THE ART OF LOOKING
Saturday, January 20th — 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Class size: 5 people; all levels welcome
This one day workshop will concentrate on tools to develop a strong drawing practice and will explore composition and expressive approaches to mark making. We will be drawing plants, each other and the studio surroundings while working to develop hand-eye coordination and connection through blind contour, contour and gesture drawing. We will use a variety of media such as charcoal, pen & ink, markers and gouache.
All supplies will be included plus each person will receive their own sketchbook.
Claudia Sperry has been teaching in different settings for over 30 years. She taught drawing, 2D design and color theory at Holyoke Community College and Vermont Community College. She taught art classes at The Guild Art School in Northampton, MA. She has mentored numerous artists at different stages of their careers. She holds an MFA from Hunter College in NYC.
